B&A: What do you think of my main characters? +BQ's?

I notice that a common preconception of aspiring writers is that if a character is unique enough in personality traits and appearance, that makes him a good character. Sorry to disappoint, but a list of the character's traits tell us nothing about how good a character he is, or how accurately he reflects said traits in the book. Neither it informs us on the character's role in the story ("what he does" as opposed to "how he is like"). Post excerpts that you believe are relevant for their characterization, and then we'll talk.
