Theatre/Dance Audition Help!?
I have to disagree with the bright colors, yes they can make you stand out, but you want to stand out more for your dancing then what you are wearing. I would stay away from anything extra that shouts 80s like the leg warmers while you are doing the audition, it will just distract from YOU. I think either a ponytail or bun would be best, if your hair is in your face they can't see your face. I think that red lips are ok as long as they are too bright, if you apply 2 coats-only put 1 (example) I would also just do light makeup for the rest, nothing like you would wear for a recital (extra heavy), but you still want to look approachable and professional. Don't talk too much with the other people trying out, pay attention if told to correct something, do it quickly and without protest. If you can do a sloppy triple and a clean double go with the double. Good clean technique is better than sloppy tricks. GOOD LUCK!!!
