How can I get my best friend to party with me?

My bestfriend is the all- around opposite of a girly-girl. She never wears makeup, plays softball, volleyball, and even hunts. She has never been the dancing or partying type. My school has a homecoming dance, and a cotillion every year. But this year we are juniors and that means prom. I want to bring her to atleast the homecoming dance this year before prom so that she maybe warms up to the idea. i mean she is my best friend, and i want us to have fun. How can i get her to come with me? any ideas?
