Tips on scrunching hair?

So here's the thing. My hair, does not scrunch. With heat, it curls. EZ-PZ. But I'd like to scrunch it to get that natural look. I have mousse and gel. I prefer the mousse, because i like it to look natural and not all wet looking the whole day. I just want a tousled look. I've tried bunsAND braids. Doesn't work. Any tips? (I've tried Juicystar07's video.) Doesn't work. THANKS FOR THE TIPS(:
